June 21st, 2012 - First Launch, Really

Well, the day is here. The motor runs and we are ready. We headed back to the Rock River and put the GT-150 in the water. The motor started right up and we were off. The boat performed beautifully! 44mph on speedo and GPS and the 1979 Mercury 90HP Tower of Power sounded AWESOME!. With one prop I got 44mph at 5000RPM and the other prop was 41MPH at 5600RPM. I would like to get 5600RPM with the first prop. Can't wait to get out again!

  1. We have the very same boat. My husband father bought it for him as a high school grad present. We still have it be it has deteriorated some what. Needs seats and new flooring. It has an 85 evinrue motor. I want to fix it up, my husband want to take it to dump. Is it worth it? The engine still runs great. Plus it needs the original seats, are they hard to find?

    2. These are classic boats, don't take it to the dump. Try to sell it before dumping it! If you don't want to put the work in to restore it, someone else will gladly do it. These have a following, clubs etc..
